Genetic engineering ultimate plants

Post by mehdi71000 » Tue May 08, 2007 12:14 am

Hi guys.
I had this Idea from desert plants that live in very dry places And always stay green, Like near the villages were people have not much food to grow or eat. Could one use the gene from the roots of those plants and add it to some local crops and make a new spices witch multiply rapidly and can use water from deep under ground to sustain the harsh dry environment? I think the person who make this plant will be remembered as one of the greatest people ever lived for sentries. And extremely powerful and rich.
let me know if this is possible and have a go your self if you like
Thanks guys

Ahh a gene is just too simple. Desert plants have a different series of pathways each with different enzymes involved to do what they do. Eaxh enzyme is like one gene carefully controlled. Very difficult job to do.
