structure and function

how do you think that the connection between structure and function is the result of evolution?

I'm assuming your passing on a question you need to answer, but it's an iffy question.

Things that are functional pretty much always have a relationship between their functions and their structure - this is true for evolved structures, technological structures, even for such things as rock. Even for art, if you see the function as evoking a response in the recipient. Evolution changes the structures and the functions, and although it changes the relationship, it doesn't produce the basic concept.

If you need a faster car, you focus on aerodynamics....hence newer sports cars have lower profiles than old ones.

cant u just simplify this to the answer of survival of the fittest. Those with proteins of better functions are able to survive better. And function is controlled by the structure of the protein.

Evolution is an ongoing process.

Changes in structure are the result of random mutations in the genes. If that structure change happens to result in the organism being better at something, then that organism will go on to reproduce more organisms like himself and those without the improved structure will be selected against.

Function is always controlled by the structure. You design before you implement. Improved function is the result of an improved structure.
