"The importance of shape and size in biological molecules."

I Have had the above question set as a form of revision for the synoptic paper.Howver i am not entierly sure where to start. I have a general idea about what to mention e.g. diffusion of water molecules,enzymes and their active sites,antigens,protiens-in cell membrane; but no real idea how to make a decent essay out of this,where do i start and what are the main concepts?The title is so broad i'm just a little lost.any help would be much appreciated,thanks

This isn't really a Biological problem, and you clearly understand the main concepts as you mention them in your post.

You simply need to structure an essay on this, and that is part of the learning process. Tip: start broad, go narrow, end broad.

It seems like you really do have a framework there: size and movement, shape and function, and some overlap.

You know that the basic idea that structure dictates function, start with that. Go with examples, enzyme substrate, antibody, antigen. Talk about why it is important, because for example, if antibody recognition screws up, you might get immune deficiency or autoimmune. Enzyme recognition problems you get a bunch diseases, or you get cancer if a kinase phosphorylates a bunch things it shouldnt phosphorylate. The main parts of your paper should focus on the diseases, and experiments to understand the structures (x-ray crystallograhy, NMR). These things should take up a couple pages
