Which compound more likely to occur in cells?

Post by 2Loula » Tue Apr 03, 2007 12:26 pm

Was wondering if anyone could help me out with this. 2 compounds:

CH3(CH3)CH-CH2-CH3 OR CH3(CH3)CH-CH(NH3+)-C=O(O-)

I need to figure out which one is more likely to occur in cells. I think it must have something to do with the NH3+ group but I am not sure.

Any help would be appreciated.

One of them is an essential amino acid. The other is the hydrocarbon, 2-methyl-butane.
