More questions on glycolysis (release of energy)

Post by junbumkim » Mon Mar 26, 2007 1:43 pm

During respiration, high energy atmos are removed from organic molecules, and is an oxidation. Shouldn't this release energy?
Why does the book say that

"the subsequent acceptance of hydrogen by a hydrogen acceptor(oxygen in the final step) is the reduction component of the redox reaction. Energy released by this reduction is used to form..."

Shouldn't this reduction process require energy?

Can you also explain ATP to ADP conversion and vice versa in terms of energy required and released?
