293T cell shape

Post by kartikv » Sun Mar 25, 2007 5:46 am

Hello,
I have a question. I am currently working with the 293T cell line. I was wondering if someone could tell me what morphology they normally see with this cell line. I keep seeing mostly rounded cells - is that because they are dividing so rapidly. Am I seeing this wrong. Does anyone know what the true morphology of these cells are. I previously worked with another HEK 293 cell line (not the T strain) and these cells spread out very nicely like epithelial cells, which I don't see with the 293T cells even though the ATCC says that it was derived from the kidney. Could someone tell me what is going on?
Thanks,
Kartik
