DNA extraction methods

Post by ruanhocon » Fri Mar 16, 2007 2:19 pm

Dear all,

I need to isolate DNA from plaque samples containing Gram + and Gram - bacteria. I am using now FastDNA spin kit for soil, but it did not work well for me. I did not see the DNA band on agarose gel. Could you recommend any other methods for isolating DNA?

Thank you,

Zymo Research has a family of BashingBead™ based technologies for isolating environmental DNA such as tough to lyse Gram (+) and (-) bacteria, Fungi (including A. fumigatus, C. albicans, N. crassa, S. cerevisiae, S. pombe, mycelium) Plant, Seed, Fecal, and Soil Microbes.

Samples are added directly to a ZR BashingBead™ Lysis Tube which rapidly and efficiently lyses without the use of organic denaturants or proteinases. The DNA is isolated and purified using our Fast-Spin column technology and is ideal for downstream molecular-based applications including PCR, arrays, etc. For more information see our website at http://www.zymoresearch.com or for your needs visit http://www.zymoresearch.com/products/dn ... na_kit.asp
