OUR PROJECT-flora&fauna of my country
HI people! I was thinking now when we have about 1300 members it would be nice to organize projects in which could participate all members. Eg . endemic species!! It would be nice project.Or general flora&fauna of my country Each could present his country ! Another project could be statistic- like distribution of specific hereditary disease. You could get information about your country and post it. That would be interesting. And members from bioinformatics could design world map so you could just click on the country and see it’s flora&fauna&distribution of hereditary diseases etc………..NICE PROJECTS that don’t need much time(I hope). One could be coordinator, other menthor and we need lector of course ….Just present your country!
Let’s start scientific career!LOL!
but I'm serious about that above.

I agree its waaay strange.
But your idea about group work does spark an old memory. We could form a team for this distributed computing project such as this http://folding.stanford.edu/download.html

Re: hi
I just thought maybe we could be creative but if there is none who wish to participate....
That's the point! One who whish to join will tell his location in this topic(if it's not written) and send pm to members from same country. Now if u are alone, u could do project for ur country alone if u wish or u could give up. See the point is that most sites and books about flora and fauna of your country is on native language .... also it would be nice to have all informations you need on the same place-here eg.
[b]It's not obliged! but would be nice to fill world map.
Time is not limited, but it would be nice to finish project in a year.
Also you can write 5 sentences or 100 but it would be nice to include all relevant data.
For now theme is flora&fauna of my country.

Filling the world map is good but the fact is that the fields i like in bio are not related to my country, I mean as I don't like botanics and zoology, I won't be able to do something related to my country.

I don't mean to sound rude, but what do we need this? I mean is you want you can find the interesting things in a good book on the theme. Details are not even allowed in IBO, not to mention in regular school hours.
Example: we all know that dionea muscipulla(Venus fly trap) only lives in the US, but we don't need to know about some species of musquito. Anyway if you guys think it is a good idea, go ahead. I doubt anybody would be interested in Romania's vegetation and fauna anyway
