Help with many biology lab questions
Hi. I need a lot of help with my bio lab homework questions. I need 2 reasons why lag period occurs in biology experiments (the specific experiment that i did is the effect of ethanol on glucose metabolism). For one of the reasons i got cells need to adapt to the environment, i'm not sure if that is right. Also, does warming test tubes minimize lag?
i need to know why at 70ºC yeast cells are not metabolizing. Is it because the proteins and enzymes are being denatured? So the cells are unable to function, does this mean that the cells die? Also, do lower temperatures prevent the enzymes for reacting? Also, why is 30ºC the optimal temperature for yeast?
Thanks in advance
