genome wide screening
Hi there,
what exactly genome wide screening? I guess it is when you look at genes for mutations etc? How is it done?
Thanks in advance,

well i think genome-wide screening is just a particular term for when you screen for the entire genome for something. For example, you could be looking for OFRs, or membrane proteins, or proteins with a nuclear localization signal. Or you may be doing something like a genome wide association study (GWAS), in which you are studying a phenotypical trait and are looking through the entire genome for genes that are associated with it.
