Hey, I was going to make the point about bacteria being dominant!
Anyway, I'll add that if humanity went extinct, no other species would be affected (except perhaps for a handful of specialized parasites), and in fact many species would thrive if we vanished. However, if bacteria go extinct, so does everything else. How's that for dominance?
