if you look at the original cell's DNA and the Transformed cell's DNA you can tell there is a difference, It's obvious it has been altered from its original form, and if you look at the bands and compare them from the vector+new gene across to the bands for the transformed call's DNA, the latter contains bands of the former, thus you can conclude transformation has occurred.
