As all of you have mentioned..I am glad to know that someone else has the same symptoms as myself. I get the stomach bloating and pain, even thru to my back, everytime I eat. No matter what I eat. I spent thousands of dollars last year getting tested by a Gastro only for him to scratch his head and write it off to IBS. I am 46 , thin and excercise. I eat right and live by the guideline of a person with IBS. Still, evertime I eat something my stomach looks like I am 4 months pregnant..I have tried the teas, the peppermint, the cleanses', you name it...nothinng is working...HELP!!!_at__at__at_

Hi everyone.... OMG! Finally I am not the only one that is having this problem. As many of you have stated - your diet has not changed so how can it be what we're eating????? Then, I too, swell up like I swallowed a basketball. It's strange because - well, since I've had 2 children, I was left with a pooch, not to bad, you could suck it in when you had too. But, almost seconds after I take a bite or two of food, my upper stomach swells up, tight as if I am getting ready to explod. Absolute misery. Like the other gal said, she just wants to lay down. Have you noticed how even though you are now more comfortable your still MISERABLE.
Up until this started, I could at least eat more than a bite or two. Or I might go a day or two with only a bite here and there. But - - - - I can't loose weight. I am up to 167 _at_ 5'4", the biggest in my life. If you were to see the small bits of food I consume, you to would say, I should be a stick.
As if the bloating isn't enough - - My bowels are CRAZY!!!! I went from a morning routine goer. Sometime a bit more. But now - I am lucky to go from anywhere from 3 - 5 days. Then when I do - It's either you bound and strain until your about to have a stroke! Or - You'd better pray you make it to the bathroom. Then..............It's like I am filling with fluid - and once I start going, I will pee for the rest of the day and a lot of times through out the night. And 98%of the time its not a dribble I am full.... After I start to bring my routine to a halt - It starts again.
This Bloating is ruinng my lfe and my sex life and working on the drive. For the eariler part of my like, I've been slim - not skinny, but around 7 - 8. Now a 13- 15. I feel so disgusing. I have constantly told my doctor - but as before - the do blood wok and are obbsessed with my thryroid. Some times my potassium is low or B-12 and Since July 4, 2009 - I starting seizures with out cause.
Sorry that it's so long, especially being a first timer, but I need some relif and answers. Hopefully we can fix each other - Thanks so much for all of your time - A prewitt

Okay, I am really unsure of how this works since I am new. In the past 2 months I have been putting weight on like crazy but just in my stomach and abdomen. (23lbs to be exact). I have had thryroid tests, cushings tests, addison's test, MRI for pituitary, CT and a sonogram. I also had my early visit to the OB/GYN and she told me that it was because I was 40 and my metabolism is slowing down. I have increased my exercise program and decreased my food intake. Nothing is working. There are days when I have trouble eating a meal because I already feel full. The doctors look at me like I am crazy. Now they are sending me to an endocrinologist, but not for another month.
any ideas???

I HAD A BREAKTHROUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok I went to the doctor, and they performed the EXACT same tests on me as they did before. Abdominal and Pelvic sonograms (not fun) and I had a metabolic panel drawn, along with a test for h.pylori that I requested from reading other posts on this page and other pages. Of course, Im anemic and my liver enzymes are high again. This has been like this for over a year.

So... I knew I had Celiacs Disease (most commonly misdiagnosed as IBS) since last year. I took out the wheat and dairy but no matter what I ate I looked pregnant after I ate. So my dad who is a PhD in Biochemistry did some further looking into the matter, as he was the one to suggest I get the Celiacs test when all of the doctors I had seen (4 to be exact) were bust scratching their heads in complete confusion. Even better, the first one told me it was psychosomatic. Whatever. It was Celiac's.

Anyway my dad found this article ... i=scholart
and it was just published March 10th of 2010 that sheds[b] A LOT OF LIGHT into whats going on. Plus, it explains weight gain, abdominal distending (making us look pregnant-ish) fatigue, food hypersensitivity, weird bowel stuff like diarrhea and constipation both. I tried to find it on a site that had the whole article. No such luck so you'll have to email me at [email protected] and send me a message that says "send me the whole article" or something like that and Ill send it to you so you can take it to your doctor. This is such brand-new information!!! I am so excited to finally after a year and a half be DONE with this!

If you have bloating but your digestive system seems fine, get your hormones checked out. Especially if you're a middle aged woman. Blood or saliva tests halfway between ovulation and your period (follicular and luteal phases). You may be estrogen dominant and you need to administer a natural progesterone cream for half your cycle or your whole cycle. It may take a few weeks or months to work, and your bloating may get worse at first before improving. You may need testosterone too. Good idea to check thyroid and adrenal (stress) hormones too. Get a complete "hormone panel" from a doctor who understands bio-identical hormones. Good luck!

SIBO- Small intestinal & bacterial overgrowth. I have been diagnose with IBS-C for years. Awful, painful, unable to sleep at night- weight gain, horrible gas & constipation, fatigue, joint pain....blah,blah, blah. Until 2 months ago. Dr. proscribed me Oracea for Rosacia- a skin condition. It is a low dose doxycycline I think. My problems are almost gone! As a test- I went off it for 3 days & ALL THE SYMPTOMS CAME BACK! It took two weeks of taking the medicine to get my symptoms back under control. I take it every day now like a zealot & am almost normal. Went back to the Gastro & said hey my Dermo prescribed this for my skin- why is my IBS better? She looked startled & said- I think you have SIBO- (Small intestinal & bacterial overgrowth). To think- all these years I could have been cured by an antibiotic! By the way a host of other coditions have cleared up as well, my gums, skin, gyencolgical issues, as well as IBS. I am almost normal. Pray this keeps up! I can sleep again :D

I hope this info helps one of you!

Apologize for not getting this posted sooner. I'm not going to go into detail like I did the first time. The lose is still with me...Sorry!!

I appreciate and am very grateful for all your comments!!! It's been a week and my stomach is great - NO PRESSURE!!! I TRULY HOPE THIS HELPS MANY OF YOU!!!!!

I've been dealing with since I was 19 and I just turned 47 last month. I've relieved the symptoms off and on over the years, believing it was just constipation issues. I've have learned that two things I was taking are the contributors to this pain killers and antibiotics. What doctors don't tell you is to eat yoghurt or take probiotics to get your system back on track after antibiotics. pain killers I learned on my own, putting two and two together. Doctors have irritated me enough to pay very close to everything about my body and what I put into it.

I've used various products and gone to doctors. I've checked to rule out ovarian cancer. Always, ate very healthy and get a good amount of excercise.

For the last 6 months it's been constant. Bloating, constipation and gas and gaining weight (15 pounds), which all turned in pressure. New Years I made a silent resolution I was going to get a handle on my ailments, migraines, allergies and my stomach. GOOD NEWS all are covered, THANK GOD!!!

Gas was relieved with Charcoal capsoles from Whole Foods. Used GasX and it worked for awhile and Maalox. Only used them for about a week.

Constipation was relieved by the migraine vitamins from (hope thats correct). At the time I didn't realize, because my stomach was still under pressure. I was going everyday and it's the good feeling of going, so I just thought I was just full of poop. But the pressure kept getting worse, which led me to this site. Again, so grateful!!

If you do not suffer from migraines up your Omega 3 or start taking them - start with 4 capsules and take magnisium 100mg 3 times a day. If you do I highly recommend up site. No migraines or headaches for 3 months.

What I took and put it into the tea I've been drinking for the last week. Note: Drink tea and you pee, meaning it will run through your system quickly.

Ginger tea
3 drops of clove oil
5 drops of peppermint oil
tumeric powder
Tinniture of Black Leaf thee ingredient!!!! I very much suggest getting the package. I had been using Antioxident granules at least 5 times a weeks with yoghurt and the oxy drops I do not miss because of the flu and the antioxident tablets I just finished a bottle, which came free with my last order. I have no idea why I stopped taking the Black Leaf, except thinking it was not as important. Now I'm back on it and will not stop taking it.

I found this site for my younger dog, January 2007, for breathing issues. It worked great for my older dog, it got rid of his old dog smell and filled in his bald spot on his butt and he never had an ear infection again and it relieved his arthritis, making him able to get and move around with ease. With my younger dog, she has not had another breathing issue and I believe the oxy drops saved her from being put down and having no side effects from a stroke she suffered August 2009. Which I'm so very grateful!!!!

The only hurdle I need to get through is my period, because it seemed the week before it starts the pressure would become unbearable. Mother Nature is very hard to predict and can throw you for a loop.. Will post once I start how I made it through..

Take care!!!!

It scares me a bit that this thread is 3yrs old!

Okay, so I've got a lot of the same complaints everyone else does:

-Bloated stomach
-Stomach pain (relieved somewhat by anti-acid medication)
-Hard to shed weight (I blamed the weight gain on stress at my last job, but now you all have me wondering!)
-Fatigue (which I attribute to whatever is going on, since it's likely my body is working hard b/c of it.)

And no obvious answers.

-Blood work fine.
-No obvious food allergens (I cut out wheat for a while. But once these "attacks" get going, nothing seems to help. Not even days on end of bananas, rice and chicken. Ugh!)
-Can't afford to go "green" on my diet. So trying to mix it up as much as possible. I've got the classic American "family" diet from 20 yrs ago. Meat, potatoes, spaghetti, soup, mac and cheese, hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken, rice, canned fruit ect... Little to no fast food. Even with an imperfect diet, this should not be happening! As I think we all know, otherwise people would've been complaining about this for decades!

Potential contributing factor:
-10yrs ago I had ameobotic dysentery due to bad water in the tap. Very similar symptoms and hard to pin down b/c the tests can easily be negative when you're actually positive, since finding evidence of them is so difficult. Took antibiotics and next test came back "negative"... given the previous point, I've often wondered if I just didn't get rid of it all the way. But I find it hard to believe that *everyone* here had some kind of parasite that they didn't get rid of fully. So we'll leave this in the back for now.

Questions for you folks out there!

-Who here is female and who is male? (I'm female)

-Females: What birth control, if any, are you on? (I'm on low dose estrogen pill. Someone mentioned hormone issues up above. Hormonal birth control can have some very frustrating and odd effects!)

-For those of you eating lots of fresh fruit and veggies. Are you buying organic? Or eating from the grocery store generic fruit? (Yes, I'm probing the pesticide question here. We all probably saw the ADHD article that came out within the last couple weeks.)

Mother Nature has come to visit and she came on very quietly. No build up pressure due to building of constipation.

At the end of this week it will be a month and I'm confident with my regime that this bloated pressure with my stomach is done for the rest of my life. And I THANK GOD.

I THANK GOD that my unaware resolution at the beginning of this year to get my irritating health issues resolved has been accomplished.

I for all you to get better soon and that what I wrote in my last reply is helping majority of you!!!!!!
