Hardy Weinberg Equilibrium

Hi I hope someone can help me with this. I calculate Hardy weinberg equilibrium from a population. I get a p value of 0.70, so I consider that the population is not in equilibrium; but my question is Why could I get this result? Is this correct? it could be possible for a high selection.?

And Can I use HWE with a gene with additive effect.

HW only applies for pupulations that are not evolving, which is never true in reality. If the population is near equilibrium, you will get numbers close to what you would expect from HW; if is not, then not :)
