sorry to hear about your 'task" ... I think the easiest way is to make flash cards... then you can bring them with you... and study all of the time!

good luck!

i remembering hiragana by keep each word like ha hi fu he ho... then.. i take a while to thinking something other like food i like, food i'ill eat for breakfast.. etc until maybe 4-6 minutes... then
try to identify each word in random.. like hi ho ho fu ha he... etc
what words make hana... hotaru.. etc.

i think it will work also in this case..
random identifying. haha.. good luck.

I agree with lilkim, make cards with them and just study study study. I had some remembering rules for some of them. Like proline, sounds like brolin a swedish soccer player, he plays football and well proline looks like a football and so on. study them and try to make up your own remembering things, now u will probably remember proline cause a crasy swede was talking about soccer on a forum :)

Memorize them within their groups, basic, acidic, hydrocarbon etc.

Just try and remember "Private Tim Hall" - PVT TM HALL for the essentials. I'm sure you're fairly familiar with many, if not most, of the amino acids, so recalling them through this mnemonic should be an easy task.

As for the nonessentials - try Caaats gggP ... I'm sure you can come up with something creative to remember that one.

Woah keef - you're from Singapore?

Are you like in NUS or something? *ponders*

Mann, having to memorise the pKa values too - kinda sucks =p

Is it just memorizing names of a/acids? So you're happy. In my university you would learn structures of each amino acids..

My course has us memorizing the names, 3 letter codes and 1 letter code, pkas and the structure of the amino acids. It's not so bad - just repetition and constantly looking at them helps.

Hello you all,

I think I might have a solution to your problem man:). I have been editing a Biochemistry Blog where beside some general biochem stuff I have posted few ideas how to remember amino acids and their structures as well. Please click the link below to check my ideas .

Have good fun.

That doesn't seem really useful to me...

Cis or trans? That's what matters.
