Is it spelled catalase or catalyase??

The enzyme that breaks down hydrogen peroxide how is it spelled? I know it can aslo be reffered to as hydrogen peroxidase.. if Im correct. And this enzyme work best in an acidic enviroment not an alkiline right? Thanks

catalase is the correct name for the enzyme :D

--> a -lyase is an enzyme with a different reaction than catalase

--> catalyase = wrong ! (in this case --> catalyase DOES exist :) --> it synthesizes peroxides)
