I'm not proficient with electron micrographs, but D definitely looks like a golgi. The average size doesn't fit, however. A golgi is about 2500 nm across. I might suggest to google "TEM golgi" and look at those pictures. If they fit, great. If not, Sorry I didn't help. LMK either way And ...

Just a stupid idea, but if you digest your DNA with some RE cutting between your primers, do you get rid of the smear?

If you read Tricho's answer, he's answered you. The hair grows for certain time. Only because it seems to grow after being cut doesn't mean it grows infinitely. I guess you do not mark your pubic hairs to see how long a certain one grows.
