Re: Composition of tissue

Read this and research the references:

Hope this helps.

You should be able to find this in the book!!!
Q1: binocular is for looking with two eyes, if you look with just one, total magnification does not change.
Q2: total mag = ocular mag x objective mag.
Q3 and 4: Which stain are you talking about???

Re: Identify the nucleic acid!

I would say it's Bacteriophage P22, but not 100% sure.

First, I am not sure why you subcloned this sequence into your final vector if you were aware of the problem after sequencing TOPO 10. The only explanation that I can come up with is that you accidently got a rare double ligation: your insert and random amplicon of the same size into your vector. Ho...

1. Identify potential candidates by subtractive hybridization of mRNA on twist mutant and wild type or on wild type while twist is expressed and when it is not (fist is preferred choice).
2. Clone regulatory sequences of these genes.
3. Do mobility shift assay to identify direct targets.

Histopathology means study of diseased (or suffering) tissues. It can be divided into histology -- microscopic examination of them and histochemistry which will encompass molecular biology methods such as PCR and hybridization. Cytogenetics has nothing to do with these techniques.

Fast generation time (e.g. 20 min for E.coli) allows fast evolution toward the gain of beneficial mutations in the new environment.
Ability to exchange plasmids/genes with other bacteria to acquire new phenotypes.

Re: ORF vs. CDS

No. CDC means only that the sequence is known to be transcribed and, therefore, it is coding for something -- neither gene nor protein has to be known. Any full mRNA sequence (obtained from cDNA sequencing) will have a full coding sequence. ORF is usually predicted based on DNA sequence and not prov...

Re: Some questions on DNA and genes

1. What are three types of polypeptides encoded by DNA? and what are their functions?(if you just give me a type, I'm sure I'll find it online somewhere, so don't worry too much about the functions) I don't know what you mean by type. Most likely you mean transcription factors, enzymes, and structur...
