Re: Civilized man is killed by a gun in the age of dinosaurs

LOL PLEASE - I did not say read it, I said recite it from memory. My sources (which I contact through the mercury filling in my wisdom tooth) insist, over and over, that the distinction is important.

Re: Is evolution as simple as we think?

Evolution is NOT a RESPONSE system. Evolution is OUTCOME or END RESULT of genetic mutation/drift + selective pressure or absence of it (diversification process). If you put a live chicken in the fridge for a long time, it will die. There is no "response to environment", mutations at will,...

Re:

I mean that, like you said, complex organisms didn't evolve for a long time. If there was a sudden evolution into complex life, why did it happen in the first place? Surely the simple life forms that evolved into the more complex life forms would have benefited more in terms of survival by remainin...

I was going to post a picture of the angel that appeared on my grilled cheese, but the Illuminati deleted it from my SSD. Brb, building Faraday cage. FYI, I have found tin foil hats to be useful when I venture out of my Faraday cage. They must be grounded, of course. Also, reciting James Joyce's &q...

Re: If God's a myth, isn't Evolution Science Fiction?

I'm into science and science fiction, but the more I study evolution the more it seems to me that it is far from the 'proven' theory many claim it to be. There are still a lot of unanswered questions. I'm curious what other science lovers think. I have a forum on Amazon about this. Would you mind f...

Amazing! The resemblance of the skull to a water-smoothed piece of rock is truly astounding, and no doubt significant. Also, I was totally unaware that Arabic numerals and the Helvetica font were developed in the age of the dinosaurs. This requires much further study. I wish I had the time.

Some creationists come here believing that the theory of evolution denies God. They are arrogant to believe they know enough to decide. Some evolutionists come here believing that the theory of evolution denies God. They are also arrogant to believe they know enough to decide. Probably no hope for e...

I take issue with 2. For sexually reproducing species, mutation is low on the list as a source of genetic variation. Even for asexually reproducing species, I am not sure that it is at the top of the list, although it's a more serious contender. Mutation is probably a more important long-term source...

Yes, and its when all the pieces fall into place that you have to be careful, especially if it is a result that supports your value system, i.e makes you feel good, or puts money in your pocket. If you are going to be truly scientific, you not only have to verify that the facts fit your theory, but ...

Re: Re:

So, will we save the virus and spread it around? No one in the right mind would agree to that. I would re-evaluate need for mass vaccinations to everything... This is where you really can run into a case where people with different values are talking at cross purposes. On the one hand vaccinations ...

Even then, the correlation between stress and early puberty does not imply causation. A twin test might help. If you had two twins separated at birth, one raised in a low stress environment, the other in a high stress environment, and the high stress twin reached puberty significantly earlier, then ...

I don't "believe" in evolution, but rather, I think it is correct. There is a difference - I won't defend evolution in the face of strong evidence against it. A believer will defend it despite the strong evidence. "Strong evidence against it" does not mean pointing out the inabil...
