Poikilotherms

Hi, could someone describe to me what the metabolic vs Temp ambient would look like for a poikilotherm? I can't find it on google and the notes my teacher gave me are really confusing... It shows for increasing ambient temp, the body temp increase linearly, and then it has added in a curved(exponent...

Animal Qs.

These are from a practice exam, I've already narrowed down my answers, these are the ones I'm not sure about. THANKS. Halophilic bacteria growth

How at the cellular level does salt concen affect halophilic bacterial growth? I've come up with only a little bit, but I need more ... - at optimum the Na+ ions make the cell membrane stronger and increase Na+ depend. active transport and movement--> increased division? - higher---->> weakens the c...

Re: How to use semi-log cycle graph paper ?

On the graph paper, it has printed on it 1, 2, 3,4,5,6,7,8,9, and then 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,1 again going up the y-axis. But my data is absorbance readings of 0.255, 0.331, etc . So I'm wondering, do I have to change those numbers to 0.1, 0.2 on the y-axis or just leave it since it is a semi-log graph....

Bacterial growth graphing (semi-log)

I'm trying to graph growth of a bacteria from an experiment using semi-log graph paper. I think I'm graphing it wrongly because of the values I'm getting. This is what I am doing; My data is 0.4 aborbance reading, so I mark on the graph the 4 on the y axis? Or am I meant to find 0.4=log Z and mark t...

Bones

Do all long bones have epiphyses at both ends?

Do short bones bear epiphyses?

Thanks.

Mean Generation Time for rate of bacterial growth

I'm a bit confused.
Why is using MGT useful/easier?

How to use semi-log cycle graph paper ?

If on the y-axis they have 1,2,3, etc..and then it goes 1,2,3 etc up to 10 again.
If I have data that I need to plot on the y-axis are 0.160, 0.255 ,etc
Do I change the 1,2,3 into 0.1,0.2? or do I just leave it?
Also, do I need to label the axis as being in semi-log?

Thank you.
