No Inuyasha, sorry. Read it in a magazine (Illustrerad Vetenskap (Illustrated Science)).

Atleast ONE of the aliens on another planet would have to eat and grow. All the other aliens could live like viruses.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this already but...

The minerals found in tap water if well enought to cover the needs of an ordinary plant.

Plants doesn't really spend alot of energy moving around, a walking plant would need lots of leaves or it would starve to death.

I think that "has to be made of cells" is a silly concept for life. The first living organism probably wasn't a cell (even thought all cells are it's children). It is not likely that membranes and all the proteins nessecary just popped up from nowhere. The first strain of DNA or RNA or whatever can'...

Of course virus is alive. They reproduce because they are automated to do so, but so are animals (such as humans) and animals are considered alive. They have no choice but to invade cells and so on but our will is just as limited as theirs (just that our will can handle more complex situations). And...

I read about specie of monkeys which smashed insects to create pesticides which it used to kill lice with. But that's perhaps a genetic behaviour.

Sure they will remain, but they will be rare. Let's say you take a group of a hundred people with eyecolorgenes representing those of the worlds population and let them breed with each other. After a couple of generations the population have grown larger. The proportion of the eyecolorgenes would be...

*screams in frustration* Green Peace always mess things up! What if genetically enhanced grain whipe out the ordinary grain? Who cares? More and better food is always good. We have used genetical engineering since the late stone-age by breeding livestock which suit us better. Remember before the 19t...

Error?

"At the Roslin Institute in Scotland, scientists successfully cloned an exact copy of a sheep, named 'Dolly'. This was the first successful cloning of an animal, and most likely the first occurrence of two organisms being genetically identical." What about single-egg twins and animals which reproduc...

I think we are evolving we just don't know it such as people in colder places like the Alps or Tibet are becomings hairer while people in warmer places are becoming less hairy. Something like that more or less. Haha, that is silly. People from Spain are more hairy than people from Sweden. We have s...

Sugar and fat tastes good, that's why we eat it. But when our sense of taste evolved we didn't have access to large amounts of sugar and fat (modern day argoculture give us a nearly unlimited amount of food). When humans evovled it was impossible to die because of overweight. Sugar and fat contains ...

A better question for this poll would be "which animal have intelligence most similar to human". But that is kind of dumb too becuause nobody knows what human intelligence is like.
