Yeah, definately vitamin D. In the US, there used to be milk commercials that constantly advertised how the vitamin D in milk benefits teeth and bones. "Milk, it does a body good." The main thing I associate vitamin C with is immunity.

So long as the chromatids are held together in the "X" shape, the centromeres are present. That stated, they would be around in prophase and metaphase. However, the centromeres are broken right down the middle when the sister chromatids are pulled apart in anaphase.

Nice pics. I went lizard viewing earlier today. All I spotted was a couple of green anoles (Anolis carolinensis) and a Southeastern five line skink (Eumceces inexpectatus). Just getting in a few more herp trips before winter arrives. :)
