Introns and more

- Why are introns important to evolution? If they're not expressed, what's the use?
- Does the fact that several mRNA molecules can be transcribed from one gene, mean the potential rate of gene expression in increased?

Calculating Partial Pressures of Water Vapor (Chem)

I have a lab report I'm working on and can't figure out how to answer these questions. I have the answers but I have no idea how to get them (I used an online calculator). Calculate the partial pressure of water at 21.6 degrees Celsuis. by interpolation from the water vapor pressure table in Appendi...

Parenteral?

Does "parenteral" include sexual transmission? I am looking at a chart for a Micro class and it only says Hepatitis C's transmission is parenteral. Isn't Hepatitis C an STD?

Motility

Our lab group (including me) was having major troubles with a lab assignment and I feel I cannot possibly depend on the results. I have to do homework based on the lab and I am hoping to find the right information to base my answers on. I'm trying to figure out which of the following are motile and ...

Biotechnology a bad idea?

Is biotechnology the emerging field of magic to wisely major in? Or is it a risk that may be outsourced? Is Biological Sciences as better choice than Biotechnology, assuming interest is equal?

Thanks. Is there a reason why it's denoted as a 3? Does "3 prime" mean 3 of something? Or is it merely a labeling system with no meaning behind it?

In 3' and 5' what does the single quote mean?

If there is a 3' end of a DNA strand, what does the single quote mean?

Thanks.

It's not just about money or I'd do something else. I like biology the most. Most subdivisions are of equal interest, so I have to pay attention to other factors outside of interest (like money).

Having said that, I'm sticking with microbiology. Thanks for the feedback.

Hmm. I want to do something with genetics. That is my primary goal. I don't know if that's unrealistic?
