Microbial Air Samplers - do clothes affect micro air count?

For work, I have to take Air samples using MAS-100. Today, while the Air Sampler was still running (it runs for 10 mins), I went in to check something in the room it was in, and that thing was in a drawer that was beside the Air sampler. Although I was fully gowned, my shirt collar was sticking out,...

HELP.Question about serial analysis of gene expression(SAGE)

I have question about the steps involved in SAGE. So, the mRNA is bound to beads, converted to cDNA and then it's cleaved. For the following steps, are we working with the part of the cDNA that's attached to the bead? or are we wroking with the released piece of cDNA after the cut (by attaching it t...

HELP: regulative embryos, nuclear equivelance..,

I'm taking embryology right now, and it's lecture based (ie. no textbook), and I cant find anything on google. Anyway, in class we covered regulative embryos. ---the diagram Im looking at has a labeled animal pole that says "has nucleus" and a labeled vegetal pole that says "has yolk ...

Thanks for the reply.

I still don't understand what gene copy numbers are though.
You said that since humans are diploid organisms you should have 2 copies of each gene. So the gene copy numbers are "extra" copies?

thanks.

gene copy numbers

I have to do a presentation about applications in Molecular biology. However, the only part I'm stuck on is gene copy numbers. I don't really understand what they are? All I got was that they are repeated copies of some sequences on some chromosomes, and they are the casue of phenotypic diversity. s...
