Astrasequi, your defensive posturing and your demands that I prove myself to you are both comical and irrelevant to the original discussion. Especially my "errors in reasoning" from your perspective. If you cannot defend your position, you attack the semantics, the sentences, even the pers...

Hi again JackBean. I never said a word about the energy content of grass. And if you really do "mean basically all plants," sorry but you are wrong because some of "all plants" are potent poisons, even without "icides," and whether in the wild or in the garden should not...

Interesting paper. Well referenced, many quotes from well qualified scientists. The author did do a very good job of gathering information and some of the questions are certainly good questions. They are just the sort of questions that will inspire geneticists to continue to find more and more answe...

Of course host specific parasite that are host specific for humans are a problem! Those that are host specific for animals can sometimes still spend part of their life in, you guessed it, US!

Thank you very much plasmodesmata! That's a big help. The camellias had to go, couldn't get rid of it and it was spreading. Now I see those same cankers on an elderly azalea. Hope I can save it, there's a whole row of those poor old things...

Hello astrasequi, Well you are wrong for sure on one count:I am a scientist. Click on my profile for more on that. Of course, I could be just saying that. But I'm not, as further posts will likely demonstrate well enough. You misquoted me a bit. I didn't say science says things that cannot be studie...

Re: Stomach bloating and weight gain

Hi. All I can say here is, well, parasites. If you saw a dog or puppy with a very bloated belly, what would be your first thought? Yet all these bloated humans, on a biology site no less, but I don't see much about parasites. Of course, "everyone knows" that people in developed countries d...

Oh and female dogs are more likely to fight over territory, home, and family. When they are in heat, there are seldom any shortages of willing males coming around. Except of course for pets that are confined...still outside males will often prowl looking for a way or time to get to her.

I once heard a theory, sorry can't recall the source, that because females must spend much more of their resources in producing young, they are simply waiting until the male who proves fittest via fighting or dominating other males, proves himself. Females are less available less often for procreati...

Hi. If you really know the answers, you know why. Just state in your own words why you believe true is true and false is false. You will probably be fine with that. However, it would not be wise to state that you know because your friend gave you those answers, or you were able to get the T/F part f...
