Ob-ligo, pp. -atus, to bind to Restricted to a particular condition of life; an obligate anaerobe can survive only in the absence of OXYGen.The ability to live in only a set parameter of conditions, as in the case of obligate parasites which require a host to complete their life cycle and reproduce.
