Help with Xenotransplantation please.

Hi. I need help on a research project about Xenotransplantation. I'm having trouble finding the process on the internet. I understand pig organs and human organs have a similar size, so I'm focusing my project on pig-xenotransplantations in particular. ...

Re: GM pig for xenotransplantation?

Ligase is an enzyme that re-joins cut DNA strands. Regarding inversion, if you cut out a section of DNA, flip it over, and reinsert it into the chromosome you haven't really reversed the codons -- they are still in the same order from 5' to 3' on their DNA backbone. However, at least cytokines can be difficult if not impossible to detect that way due to their small concentrations, and the results can be quite ambiquous. Anyways, if you manage to detect cytoki...

Xenotransplantation - graft rejection detection??

Hi everyone, I am working on an in vivo experiment in rats where I implanted (subcutaneously) genetically modified C2C12 murine myoblasts that deliver Epo enveloped in a delivery system we are working on in our lab. Some of the experimental groups were transiently immunosupressed and others weren't,...
