Wool wax

wool wax --> adeps lanae

The greasy substance obtained from the wool of the sheep Ovis aries (family Bovidae). Used as an emollient base for creams and ointments.

Synonym: hydrous wool fat, lanolin, wool wax.

Origin: L. Fat of wool
