water table

(Science: ecology) The zone of saturation at the highest average depth during the wettest season, it is at least six inches thick and persists in the soil for more than a few weeks.

There are tables of aa that are polar (hydrophilic) and those who are non-polar (hydrophobic). Teh more peptides in each category the more the solubility in water will be affected (positively or not). Good luck for your search.
