vivianite

(Science: chemical) A hydrous phosphate of iron of a blue to green colour, growing darker on exposure. It occurs in monoclinic crystals, also fibrous, massive, and earthy.

Origin: So called by Werner after the English mineralogist F. G. Vivian.
