A virus vector that transmits the modified genetic material of the into the target cell.


Viral vectors are commonly produced through recombinant DNA technology. Examples of viral vectors are the lentiviral vectors that carry modified genes (but not the genes for replication to prevent them from propagating inside the target cell).
