(Science: anatomy) An inconstant muscle on the pelvic surfaces of the sacrum and coccyx, the remains of a portion of the tail musculature of lower animals.

Synonym: musculus sacrococcygeus ventralis, musculus sacrococcygeus anterior, ventral sacrococcygeal muscle.
