vena basalis --> basal vein of Rosenthal

A large vein passing caudally and dorsally along the medial surface of the temporal lobe from which it receives tributaries; it empties into the great cerebral vein (of galen) from the lateral side.

Synonym: vena basalis, rosenthal's vein.
