Results from our forumproduct-vs-time experiment of amylaseHello Biologists, I was working with new enzymes (well new to me) today in a biochemistry lab and had to determine the velocity of the reaction for three different substrate conditions. Generally, when I plot the graphs, there are 3 different lines, corresponding to the different ...

Re: Lab of Vmax and KMThat's it. The velocity approaches Vmax asymptotically as the substrate concentration increases. However, changing other conditions can change the Michaelis–Menten plot -- for instance, a different pH or a different temperature can ...

Lab of Vmax and KM... and Lineweaver burk) and calculated the Vmax and Km. Vmax = 0.005033 mM/min KM = 23.41 So that I completely understand: the maximum velocity this enzyme can react at is 0.005022 mM/min at which time it will be totally saturated. Meaning it will not react ANY FASTER..... Is this correct? ...

Re: A biochemical question... I can't tell from your description what the units are for the product. Total moles of product is possible. So is a concentration. So is a velocity. Read the book again and see what the book says.
