varicose veins

permanent dilation and tortuosity of vein's, most commonly seen in the legs, probably as a result of congenitally incomplete valves; there is a predisposition to varicose vein's among persons in occupations requiring long periods of standing, and in pregnant women.

... I think something to do with heart disease, a heart attack infact, varicose veins - a big one, to do with clots. hypertension, all very interesting.

Arteries and Veins

veins have valves so the blood only flows one way--towards the heart. and when they are leak you have a varicose vein :twisted:
