1. Irregularly swollen or enlarged; affected with, or containing, varices, or varicosities; of or pertaining to varices, or varicosities; as, a varicose nerve fibre; a varicose vein; varicose ulcers.

2. (Science: medicine) Intended for the treatment of varicose veins; said of elastic stockings, bandages. And the like.

Origin: L. Varicosus, from varix, -icis, a dilated vein; cf. Varus bent, stretched, crooked.

... as something fun, as you'll become more focused and therefore get more marks. I think something to do with heart disease, a heart attack infact, varicose veins - a big one, to do with clots. hypertension, all very interesting.

Arteries and Veins

veins have valves so the blood only flows one way--towards the heart. and when they are leak you have a varicose vein :twisted:
