(chemistry) A mineral made up of lead vanadate and a small proportion of lead chloride; its color may be red, brown or yellow, and has molecular formula of: Pb5 (VO4)3Cl.


Vanadinite is available commercially as source of vanadium.

Word origin: Latin vanadium + -in +-ite.

Synonym: vanadite.
