(Science: protein) autosomal homologue of dystrophin (395 kD) localised near the neuromuscular junction in adult muscle, though in the absence of dystrophin (i.e. In duchenne muscular dystrophy) utrophin is also located on the cytoplasmic face of the sarcolemma
