Urea clearance

The volume of plasma (or blood) that would be cleared completely of urea by the kidneys or by hemodialysis over a given amount of time (e.g. one minute)

Urea clearance is expressed in mL/min. It can be calculated using the formula: Urine Concentration [mmoL/L or mg/mL] x Urine Flow [mL/min])/Plasma Concentration [mmol/L or mg/mL]
