U protein

U protein

(Science: molecular biology) Hypothetical protein thought to regulate the transition of cells from G0 to g1 phase of the cell cycle and thus inevitably into s phase. The idea would be that the concentration of this unstable (u) protein would have to exceed a threshold level for triggering progression through the cycle and that this would only happen if the cell had adequate access to growth factors or to nutrients.

Synonym: trigger protein.

Producing unknown protein

Dear all, We have protein sequence which is unknown, when we checked any databases we see that it is probably new. the aim is how we can make this protein produced via vectors using molecular approaches? What can be experimental design.

protein fractionation

There are several ways how to purify your protein (bulk fractionation, liquid chromatography, electrophoresis). Best is if you have previously published protocol, at least of similar protein. If you have any, you just have to try different approaches ...

protein fractionation

... an uropathogenic strain of E.coli. When I artificially express from a plasmid one of the transcriptional regulator, it results in secretion of a protein factor in the media, which has interesting biological roles. My aim is to purify this unknown factor present in the growth media and to identify ...
