The topographic approach in studying anatomy wherein the body is studied based on regions and the relations of the structures contained in that region

In human anatomy, the body is divided generally into these regions:

  • head and neck
  • torso
  • upper member (or upper extremity)
  • lower member (or lower extremity)

The topographic anatomy would therefore be a way of studying these regions one by one.
