tibial collateral ligament

(Science: anatomy) The broad fibrous band that passes from the medial epicondyle of the femur to the medial margin and medial surface of the tibia; the medial meniscus is attached to its deep surface; it is continuous with (a thickening of) the fibrous capsule of the knee joint.

Synonym: ligamentum collaterale tibiale, medial ligament of knee.
