Thoracic ganglia



The paravertebral ganglia located in the thoracic portion of the sympathetic trunk.


There are about eleven or twelve thoracic ganglia in the sympathetic trunk. These ganglia have white rami (that carry sympathetic fibers from the spinal cord into the sympathetic trunk) and gray rami communicantes. They innervate the trunk region.
