Thickness

thickness

1. The measure of the depth of something, as opposed to its length or width.

2. A layer or stratum.

Breslow's thickness, maximal thickness of a primary cutaneous melanoma measured in tissue sections from the top of the epidermal granular layer, or from the ulcer base (if the tumour is ulcerated), to the bottom of the tumour; metastatic rates correlate closely with tumour thickness.

That way you control for other potential errors, such as a difference in buffer concentration or a variation in tube thickness (I have no idea what the error is, but starting with identical preps and measuring them before adding enzyme should help you determine that). ...

Re: Please help me decide which microscope to buy

An inverted scope has the optics below the stage, allowing you to get close (plastic-thickness) to the cells without dumping the objective into the culture media. This will probably limit the maximum magnification you can use, because the short focal length of a very ...

Re: Brain size=IQ level theory (Blacks vs Whites & Asians)

... The histological, chemical and functional counterparts of big and small brains in modern man are not known. Published interracial comparisons of thickness of the cerebral cortex and, particularly, of its supragranular layer, are technically invalid: there is no acceptable proof that the cortex ...
