(Science: chemical) A selective histamine h1-receptor antagonist devoid of central nervous system depressant activity. The drug is used in the treatment of seasonal allergic rhinitis, asthma, allergic conjunctivitis, and chronic idiopathic urticaria.

Pharmacological action: anti-allergic agents, anti-asthmatic agents, histamine h1 antagonists.

Chemical name: 1-Piperidinebutanol, alpha-(4-(1,1-dimethylethyl)phenyl)-4-(hydroxydiphenylmethyl)-
