Glutamine synthetase in animals

Yes. Check out GenBank http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/nuccore. Enter "glutamine synthetase" (with the quotation marks) and any animal whose genome has been sequenced, e.g. "Homo sapiens", "Caenorhabditis elegans".

Glutamine synthetase in animals

Hi everybody I've been looking for a while now, and haven't come across this anywhere. Is glutamine synthetase (enzyme synthesizing glutamine from glutamate and ammonia) present in heterotrophs, e.g animals? This is quite a big deal, because it is the primary pahtway of ammonia ...

A2 nitrogen fixation + denitrification

* there are several enzymes glutamine synthase and synthetase, I think. One is working with low NH3 conc. (and must use ATP), whereas the other is more useful with higher conc., when it runs faster ;)

Re: Signaling between the ribosome and synthetase

As far as I know there is no signaling between ribosome and synthetase. tRNAs linked to amino acids are present in the cytosol. The ribosome uses them, stripping off the amino acids. When an aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase encounters an unloaded tRNA, it puts ...
