1. (Science: anatomy) A groove or furrow, as one of the grooves on the surface of the cerebrum in mammals.

2. (Science: zoology) In Dinoflagellata, a longitudinal groove in which a flagellum lies; in anthozoa, the ventral siphonoglyph.
