Making a shrill, creaking sound. The Sarmatian boor driving his stridulous cart.

(Science: medicine) (Longfellow) Stridulous laryngitis, a form of croup, or laryngitis, in children, associated with dyspnoea, occurring usually at night, and marked by crowing or stridulous breathing.
