How long do stress hormones stay in your system

I suffer from an anxiety disorder and i know how the bodies stress system works (body senses stress physical or mental, releases adrenaline ... I've read some things about half lifes but i'm not well learned in that area so it's just double dutch to me. Cheers for any help guys
