strangury

1. (Science: medicine) A painful discharge of urine, drop by drop, produced by spasmodic muscular contraction.

2. (Science: botany) A swelling or other disease in a plant, occasioned by a ligature fastened tightly about it.

Origin: L. Stranguria, Gr., a drop _ to make water, urine: cf. F. Strangurie. See Strangle, and Urine.
